Begin with the person being remembered and the details you would like on the memorial.

  • Enter your contact details. A company name is optional and does not grant trade access.
  • If known, provide the cemetery or churchyard, town and grave number. You can leave these blank and our team will confirm requirements later.
  • Enter the memorial inscription, including the name, nickname, dates, dedication and any personal message.
  • Add another person where the memorial is intended for more than one individual. You can also request space for a future inscription.
  • Open AI Assist if you would like help finding the right words for a dedication or verse. Check and edit the suggestions before continuing.
Helpful tip: You remain in control of the wording. Read names, dates and spelling carefully.

Using AI Assist for inscriptions

Not sure what to write? Open the AI Assist section beneath the dedication or verse fields. Describe the person, their character or the sentiment you would like to express. Review the suggested wording, personalise it and make sure the final text says exactly what you want.

AI suggestions are a starting point, not a replacement for your own memories or final approval.

Select the physical headstone, heart, book, cremation tablet or other memorial that will form the basis of your design.

  • Browse the Magic Memorials catalogue to find a shape you love.
  • Enter its MM reference and choose Load to display the selected memorial.
  • Select your preferred granite colour.
  • The Designer personalises the chosen master memorial rather than inventing a different stone shape.
Helpful tip: Keep the MM reference handy if you are comparing several memorials.

Choose how photographs, scenes and inscriptions will sit together. The Designer shows visual examples of eight styles.

  • Portrait Plus places a person alongside the things they loved.
  • Signature focuses on a hobby, vehicle, pet, sport or other passion.
  • Legacy combines portrait imagery and inscription in a side by side composition.
  • Crown puts the photographic story above the inscription; Feature places it below.
  • Half Crown and Half Feature use diagonal photographic layouts.
  • Traditional is a classic inscription led memorial without a photographic MMIT scene.
Helpful tip: Choose the layout that best suits the photographs and story you have. Some memorial shapes have different available options.

This is where you can make the memorial deeply personal.

  • Drag and drop up to four photographs or click to browse. Use clear images where possible.
  • In the photographic scene box, describe the setting, hobbies, memories, vehicles, pets or places you would like included.
  • If you are unsure how to describe the scene, open AI Scene Help. Tell it what matters and use its suggestions to build your scene description.
  • Some scene focused styles can be created without a photograph of a person. Other styles require a portrait.
Helpful tip: Be specific about what matters most. For example, describe a favourite garden, motorcycle, dog or holiday destination rather than simply saying “make it nice”.

Choose coordinated colours and optional decorative features.

  • Select a memorial colour scheme such as gold, silver, white or another available option.
  • Choose an optional portrait treatment where appropriate for the selected style.
  • Add compatible decorative artwork, flowers, emblems or logos where permitted.
  • The full colour photographic imagery remains separate from the selected lettering and border colours.
Helpful tip: Only add details that feel meaningful. A simpler memorial can be just as beautiful.

Add the Finishing Touches

Choose how much design control you would like.

  • Select Let the Magic Happen to let the Designer handle suitable layout and finishing decisions.
  • Alternatively choose Add Your Own Custom Touches to control the available MMIT layout, lettering font, capitalisation, colours, borders and decorative corners.
  • Select text breaks, flower holder quantities, positions and colours where the chosen memorial supports them.
  • Additional design instructions can explain approved finishing preferences but cannot change the underlying memorial construction.
Helpful tip: You do not need design skills. The automatic option is ideal if you would rather let the Designer make the layout decisions.

Check the full memorial summary and inscription before generating your preview.

  • Review the chosen memorial, granite, style, scene, photographs, inscription and finishing choices.
  • Double check all names, dates and wording.
  • Generate your protected memorial proof and review the realistic high definition preview.
  • If something is not quite right, request changes or generate again using your available AI credits.
Helpful tip: Generated images are design proofs. Our team confirms manufacturability, final specifications and burial ground permissions before accepting an order.

Use Request Changes to adjust your design choices, or Generate Again for another preview within your available credits. A new generation may differ from the previous image.

The Designer displays Standard and Large options with the selected memorial package, granite, inscription charges, photographic design and other selected features.

  • The first 100 chargeable inscription characters are included. Additional chargeable characters are priced at £3 each.
  • Optional extras update the price when selected.
  • The quote shows the 50% deposit and balance payable before fitting.
  • Standard fitting is included in the displayed package, subject to the stated terms.
  • Permit and administration fees are additional and confirmed before order acceptance.
For a custom size, enter your preferred height, width and thickness and request a quotation. Our team will check burial ground restrictions.

  • Save Design: Save your work to your account and return through My Designs.
  • Request Changes: Revisit your choices and adjust the design.
  • Generate Again: Produce another preview using an available generation credit.
  • Order Standard or Large: Choose the size and submit your order details when ready, or use WhatsApp to ask a question.

Our team reviews submitted orders and final proof approval before production. A deposit is due on order confirmation, with the remaining balance due before fitting.

Do I need any design experience?

No. The guided steps and Let the Magic Happen option are designed to help you without specialist design skills.

Can I use AI to help write the inscription?

Yes. AI Assist can suggest wording for dedications and verses. You should review all suggestions and confirm the final wording yourself.

Can I create a memorial without a photograph?

Yes, for compatible styles. Some portrait focused styles require a photograph, while Traditional designs do not use photographic MMIT scenes.

Can I share my design with family?

Yes. Use Share Design or download the protected proof. Review what is being shared and retain your design reference.

Is it free to use?

You can begin designing free, with image generation subject to the credits available to your account. Check the Designer for your current allowance.

Can I save my design and come back?

Yes. Use Save Design and My Designs with your account to return to saved work.

Are the displayed prices final?

They are personalised quotations based on your selections. Final specifications, fitting suitability and permit or administration fees are confirmed before acceptance.

What if my cemetery has special rules?

Tell us the burial ground if known. Our team checks the relevant restrictions and permissions before confirming an order.
